English Scroll Text – Order of the Pelican for Mary Theophania Hunn

This a late period English text, but I cannot recall the specific sources I was referencing.

No scroll image is available, but the Calligrapher and Illuminator was Shauna MacKenzie O’Dowd.

Scroll Text:

  2. Besides this, that we elevate her to the Order of the Pelican that her example may serve to inspire all others to goodness, health, and service.
  3. Item, that she shall bear arms by letters patent, to whit, Pean, a bear sejant erect supported on a bee skep Or.

All which and singular Injunctions their majesties ministers unto their loving subjects, straitly charging and commanding them to observe and keep the same upon pain of deprivation, sequestration of fruits and benefices, suspension, and such other coercion, as to justices, or other having jurisdiction, whom their majesties have appointed, or shall appoint for the due execution of the same, shall be seen convenient; charging and commanding them to see these Injunctions observed and kept of all persons being under their jurisdiction, as they will answer to their majesties for the contrary.
